The Project strategically establish a Natural Textile Fiber Innovation Hub in Apayao capable of processing in its full capacity 10-40 kilograms of fibers per day equivalent to about 60 kilograms of spinnable or opened fibers ready for yarn and other textile material conversion. The primary objective of this project is to provide pretreated fiber requirements of the Regional Yarn Production Innovation Center (RYPIC) based at ISU Ilagan, Isabela; and to promote the natural textile fiber chain and catalyze an integrated local textile ecosystem. The total cost of the project is PhP 3.9M funded by DOST-PTRI with a duration of one year. Equipment for fiber extraction was provided for the College. The expected output of the project is 10-40 Kg. pretreated open and spinnable fiber to be sold to Ilagan, Isabela as income generating fund for the College.
